Artist Statement

Blue is a series of paintings inspired by time spent along Australia’s coastline. Each stretch offered something unique—light, texture, stillness, movement—and no two places felt the same.

I worked in both acrylic and oil to explore the richness and variety of blue. Mixing each colour by hand became a process of discovery, deepening my connection to the many moods and meanings the colour can hold.

Some blues feel open and calm, others heavy or electric. These works are my response to the fleeting moments experienced by the sea—the way the coast stays with us long after we’ve left
