HOME
My paintings feel like home, alive with everyday mess, wonder, and colour.
Drawing on my own story of growing up on a farm and now raising my girls in a regional town, I’m inspired by messy verandahs, changing seasons, scattered toys, and backyard life. These slow moments have shaped my sense of comfort and joy.
Each painting starts with a strong composition, then I build in patchworks of design elements, vintage fabrics, regional architecture, and everyday details. I play with bold layers of colour and texture to spark nostalgia, and add a touch of playfulness to tie it into the rhythm of life in regional Australia.
Home celebrates the joy, frustration, humour, and tenderness of life at home, as a child and as a parent.

About Sophie
My love for travel and discovering new places deeply inspires my art. I grew up in a small farming community in NSW, before venturing to live in Sydney, Paris, and Brighton, UK. Now based in the vibrant country town of Orange with my French husband, Johann, and our two children, Olive and Clémentine, I’m passionate about capturing the essence of regional and rural communities and celebrating the unique charm of regional life through my work.
Colour is at the heart of everything I create—it has the power to evoke emotion and stir up nostalgia. My paintings are designed to make you smile, offering a whimsical glimpse into everyday life with a dash of humour.
